A 3kW Solar System is commonly considered the optimal choice for residential solar installation.
For rooftop solar in residential sector the central financial support has been increased upto Rs.18000/KWp from previous Rs.14,588/KWp for project up to 3KW and Rs. 9000/Kwp from Rs. 7294/- for project above 3KW and 10KW. New rates are applicable for all claims in National Portal.
For example: If your bill comes to 5000, then a system of 5kW should be installed.
Example: Sanctioned load – 5kW
Maximum Solar Plant Allowed – 4kW
Sanctioned load will have to be increased for bigger size
Example – Shadow free area on your roof – 1800 Sqr Feet
